Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in Central America for Q2 2023

The second quarter of 2023 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 navigation and maps applications in Central America. According to data from Sensor Tower, here is a breakdown of their weekly downloads, active users, and revenue.

Google Maps saw weekly downloads fluctuate, starting at around 105K at the end of March and dipping to approximately 91K in early May. However, downloads peaked at 123K in mid-June, before settling at 113K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users hovered around 4.9M, showing minor fluctuations but maintaining overall stability.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced varying weekly downloads, beginning with 113K in late March, dropping to around 90K in late May, and then rising slightly to 99K by the end of June. Active users for Waze started at 1.8M and showed a general decline, ending the quarter with approximately 1.7M users.

Google Earth downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from around 32K to 43K throughout the quarter. The highest download count was 43K in the last week of June. Active users for Google Earth showed a similar pattern, starting at 308K and peaking at 319K by the end of June.

Radar Map, Radar Detector, HUD showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, rising from 11K at the end of March to about 17K in the last week of June. Active users also followed an upward trajectory, starting at 28K and reaching 56K by the end of the quarter.

Maps All in One, Speedometer had a more volatile download trend, starting at 17K at the end of March, peaking at 24K in early April, and then fluctuating down to 7K in mid-June before climbing back to 10K by the end of the quarter. Active users started at 18K, dipped to 10K at the end of May, and increased to 13K by the end of June. Revenue for this app saw minor fluctuations, peaking at $110 in late May.
